This Monday, Giraffe had its first birthday! We can’t believe how quickly a year has gone by, so we wanted to write a quick blog post to talk about the past year. Before you yawn and click off – there will be a picture of me in a party hat holding a cake at the end. Worth it? I think so.
The idea of Giraffe occurred to me just before I set off on holiday with my girlfriend and her then 2 year old daughter, Ella. It tirelessly encompassed my thoughts throughout my flight to the point where I spent the first night sat on the balcony with a notepad fleshing out the idea. I know what you’re thinking, yes I am a fun guy to go on holiday with! Luckily my awesome girlfriend sat down and brainstormed the idea with me.
Upon arrival I shared the idea with Kane, and a week later we had named it, started the company and put the website up for the world to find spelling errors in. A few months later we would take the plunge and quit our full time jobs with only a couple of clients on the books. Here we are, a year on from the website going live – and we have more than 5 times the amount of clients, who span the globe and industries alike.
We love Giraffe and we’re utterly proud of our first year as a business. But we’re just getting started. We’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of our first year and look forward to meeting even more awesome people in our second year and beyond that.
