Are you looking to create a festive Christmas social media presence for your brand? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
Like any seasonal holiday, Christmas is a great way to show a different side of your brand. With Christmas being so universal, there’s plenty of opportunity to reach a new audience with your festive fun!
In this article, we’re going to be looking at four different ways you can spread the festive cheer on social media!
12 Days of Christmas Social Media
We all know and love (or hate, we don’t judge) that 12 Days of Christmas song. With the idea of receiving gifts for twelve days leading up to Christmas being so ubiquitous, there’s no reason why you can’t make use of that concept in your marketing.
Whilst your brand may not be in a position to give away a partridge in a pear tree, you can hand out exclusive discounts and prizes to your social media following.
For each of the twelve days leading up to Christmas (or even 25 days if you’ve got enough to promote), publish a post to Instagram with the day’s number, and an exclusive discount hidden behind. This works best as a carousel, because the motion of swiping through the slides feels like opening a gift.
Want to do this, but don’t have the design skills? Not to worry! The free design tool Canva has plenty of advent calendar templates for you to pick from.
Create a Christmas Social Media Gift Guide
At Giraffe, we’re huuuuge fans of seasonal gift guides. Christmas gift guides are fantastic ways of highlighting your must-have products during the festive season.
You don’t need us to tell you, but we’ll add it in for effect anyway: Knowing what to buy someone for Christmas is tricky, so providing clear, branded gift guides full of ideas and inspiration will help to generate some sales – and help confused customers.
Just remember to publish your guides with plenty of time before the big day!
Again, Canva comes to the rescue. They have a whole range of gift guide templates you can use to get up and running.
Christmas Social Media Brand Revamp
Even if none of these ideas take your fancy, something you really should be doing to make your Christmas social media pop is revamp your branding.
You don’t have to go the whole hog and create an entirely new style for your brand, but adding in a few touches of Christmas magic here and there will ensure you’re seen to be getting involved with the festivities.
A great example of brands putting a festive-spin on their imagery is Costa. Every year, the coffee chain create a set of special cups that are only available for a limited amount of time. (Spoiler, it’s until Christmas is over.)
Host a Giveaway
Most of us love to get involved with competitions and giveaways throughout the year as it is, so why not host a few during Christmas too?
Giveaways are a great way of generating engagement and getting your brand seen by more people on social media. Do this by creating specific rules that require entrants share or tag their friends on your posts to be with a chance of winning.
One of our top tips, however, is to not include too many rules and requirements. Make sure you’re not including so many rules that they end up dissuading people from getting involved.
If you wanted to take it a step further, you could even run a competition using influencers. The good news is that we’ve got a whole guide to help you do just this!
