In 2012, small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s) accounted for 99.9% of all private sector businesses in the UK. SME’s were also responsible for 59.1% of private sector employment and turned over approximately £3,100 billion in the same year.
This seems to be quite a daunting thought. That just .1% of the businesses on our streets are large corporations! That’s the McDonalds, Starbucks and so forth!
What all of these businesses have in common however, is that they were all once a ‘startup’ business, no matter where they may be now.
We’ve pulled this great infographic from Staff.com, who have compared the startup costs for typical businesses in 8 different countries, with some extraordinarily differing results.
