Startup Businesses: How Much does it Cost Around the Globe?

In 2012, small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s) accounted for 99.9% of all private sector businesses in the UK. SME’s were also responsible for 59.1% of private sector employment and turned over approximately £3,100 billion in the same year.

This seems to be quite a daunting thought. That just .1% of the businesses on our streets are large corporations! That’s the McDonalds, Starbucks and so forth!

What all of these businesses have in common however, is that they were all once a ‘startup’ business, no matter where they may be now.

We’ve pulled this great infographic from Staff.com, who have compared the startup costs for typical businesses in 8 different countries, with some extraordinarily differing results.

We’ll leave you to the converting from dollars to pounds but we would also like to know what you think? Are there any major surprises here? Tweet us!
